The Illinois Senate finished its action Friday morning after sending 197 bills to the House this week.
The Senate’s morning adjournment brought an early end to a busy week. Senate President Don Harmon pointed out that last week, when the House was on its third reading deadline, it adjourned “closer to 10:53 p.m. than 10:53 a.m.,” giving homage to what he called the Senate’s “hard work and diligence.”
Both chambers now officially begin a two-week spring break before a scheduled return to Springfield on April 18. After that point, session is scheduled for every week until the planned May 19 adjournment.
