Lawmakers returned to the Capitol Tuesday with most of the action happening at committee.
That included the passage – by a 20-1 vote – of a bill that already passed in the Senate that would lift the moratorium on new nuclear power construction in Illinois.
Today, Chicago Mayor-elect Brandon Johnson will speak to a joint session of the House and Senate at noon in the House chamber. The Chicago Tribune reported earlier this month that some components of Johnson’s budget plan would need approval from lawmakers in Springfield.
