Hi,
I’m writing you to see if you are still actively updating the resources you have listed at: https://www.bletislb.org/union-links/.
My name is David Sides and I work in the public outreach department of The Mesothelioma Center (Asbestos.com).
Boiler workers are among the top occupations at risk of asbestos exposure and developing mesothelioma, a rare cancer that can take 20-50 years to develop. Asbestos was commonly used in insulation of pipes, boilers, ducts and tanks for its fire and heat resistant properties between the 1920’s and 1980’s.
Our website features extensive information on asbestos and we work 1-on-1 with individuals to help them find local doctors, treatment centers and support groups all at no cost.
With this said, I think adding our link on your site would be a valuable addition and can help inform former, current, and future boiler workers of the dangers of asbestos and the steps involved if affected.
Please take a look at some of the information we have at https://www.asbestos.com/occupations/boiler-workers/ and let me know if you have any questions.
Thank you for your time,
David
